As a pivotal member of the Finance team, this position is responsible for overseeing the personnel, procedures, systems, and policies that govern Hussmann's Credit and Collections operations. The primary goal of this role is to achieve the metrics and projects associated with our DSO (Days Sales Outstanding), working capital, cash flow, bad debt, and aging objectives. This Supervisor will exemplify leadership through collaboration and foster accountability among team members. As part of the Finance leadership group, this role will collaborate with leaders from various functional areas to promote and implement the company's strategic initiatives and objectives. Ensuring that the team delivers exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders will be essential, as this role will engage with Business Unit Controllers, Billing, Sales, Accounting, and the Hussmann Executive Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily Accounts Receivable (AR) operations for both collections and credit functions, ensuring optimal resource allocation to meet customer demands and internal objectives.
  • Facilitate team requirements, coordinating cross-departmental efforts that enhance issue resolution, project execution, and process enhancement in alignment with Hussmann's strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with IT to establish customer-specific invoicing methods through various electronic channels or third-party platforms.
  • Drive initiatives for our DSO, working capital, cash flow, bad debt, and aging targets while ensuring compliance and control accountability.
  • Identify and spearhead innovative solutions and initiatives to navigate a dynamic business landscape.
  • Design cross-training programs to mitigate single points of failure and guarantee business continuity.
  • Support talent development and succession planning within the team.
  • Continuously assess talent and skillset requirements that align with Hussmann's strategic direction and technological advancements.
  • Execute monthly closing tasks and prepare month-end reports and other necessary documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in AR, Finance, Accounting, or Billing roles.
  • Preferred 2+ years of experience in a management capacity.
  • Results-driven with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively.
  • Capacity to understand the broader context and communicate visions, goals, and scopes beyond this position's immediate responsibilities.
  • Proven ability and enthusiasm for mentoring, training, and coaching team members.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, detail-oriented, and thorough.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required, with a preference for advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel functions.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong customer focus.
  • Experience with financial ERP systems, preferably Oracle or SAP.
  • Experience in system implementation is advantageous (ERP/collections modules/third-party portals such as Ariba).
  • Project management experience is a definite plus.
