Position Overview

Delaware North Sportservice is seeking part-time Cooks to enhance our culinary operations at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington. In this role, you will be a key figure in a kitchen that fosters your culinary skills and encourages your innovation. Your responsibilities will include reviewing menus, preparing dishes, operating kitchen machinery, and adhering to all health and sanitation standards.

Compensation
As a tipped position, earnings can reach up to $33/hr when tips are included. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about culinary arts and thrive in a collaborative environment.

Pay Rate
$26.55 / hour

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess menus and guest orders to determine the necessary food quantities, accurately measuring and portioning all food items.
  • Adhere to all portion sizes, quality standards, and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Utilize kitchen equipment for food preparation, including knives, slicers, pots, pans, and ovens.
  • Maintain proper food temperatures and ensure correct food storage.
  • Guarantee the freshness and quality of all menu items, packaging products according to specifications.
  • Perform opening, closing, and side work duties as directed and in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Keep workstations, coolers, and equipment clean, organized, sanitized, and adequately stocked.
  • Comply with all health codes and sanitation regulations.
  • Carry out other assigned duties as needed.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Previous experience in back-of-house food service is preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand prep sheets and recipes.
  • Basic math skills to comprehend, calculate, and follow recipe measurements and proportions.
Physical Requirements
  • Manual dexterity to chop, mix, blend, and whip various foods and liquids.
  • Capability to lift and carry large pans from ovens or freezers, weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment effectively.
  • Standing and walking for the entire duration of the shift.
  • Frequent reaching up to 6-7 feet, twisting at the waist, bending, and squatting.
  • Occasional pushing and pulling to move equipment, mops, and brooms.
  • Work environment may have moderate-to-high noise levels.
  • Frequent exposure to a hot and humid kitchen environment.
