Delaware North Sportservice is seeking part-time Culinary Specialists to contribute to our operations at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington. In this role, you will take on a leadership position within a kitchen that fosters your culinary skills and encourages your innovative spirit. Your responsibilities will include reviewing menus, preparing dishes, operating kitchen appliances, and adhering to all health and sanitation standards.
Compensation
Pay can reach up to $33/hr when including tips. This is a tipped position.

Key Responsibilities- Review menus and guest orders to determine the type and quantities of food to be prepared, ensuring accurate measurement and portioning of all food items.
- Adhere to all portion sizes, quality standards, and departmental policies and procedures.
- Utilize kitchen equipment to prepare food items, including knives, slicers, pots, pans, warmers, steamers, grills, and ovens.
- Maintain proper food temperatures and ensure correct food storage.
- Ensure the freshness and quality of all menu items, packaging products to meet specifications.
- Perform opening, closing, and side work duties as directed and according to established guidelines.
- Keep workstation, coolers, and equipment clean, organized, sanitized, and adequately stocked.
- Comply with all health codes and sanitation regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Previous experience in back-of-house food service is preferred.
- Ability to read and understand prep sheets and recipes.
- Basic math skills; ability to comprehend, calculate, and follow recipe measurements and proportions.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to chop, mix, blend, and whip a variety of foods and liquids.
- Ability to lift and carry large pans from ovens or freezers, weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment.
- Standing and walking for the entire duration of the shift.
- Frequently required to reach up to 6-7 feet, twist at the waist, bend, and squat.
- Occasional pushing and pulling to move equipment, mops, and brooms.
- Kitchen environment – moderate to high noise levels.
- Frequent work in a hot and humid environment.
