Opportunities Available
Amazon's accounting division offers positions at the Senior Accountant level across various sectors, including Legal Entity & Intercompany, Accounting Policy & Reporting, Operations and Capital, Transportation, Payments & Merchant Services, Retail Operations, Digital, and AWS Accounting.
Key Responsibilities
This role will involve:
- Supporting multiple facets of our accounting and reporting processes.
- Applying accounting and financial principles effectively.
- Assessing the effectiveness of internal controls and designing new processes for evolving business activities.
- Making informed judgments to keep projects on track and ensuring timely closure of monthly accounts.
- Exhibiting a strong sense of ownership.
- Analyzing complex processes and systems data.
Basic Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in finance or a related analytical field.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 2 years of operational accounting experience in a Fortune 500 company.
- CPA certification.
- Familiarity with internal control frameworks (specifically COSO) to evaluate control design and operational efficiency.
- Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification.
- Experience in accounting management within a Big Four firm serving Fortune 500 clients.
- Proficiency in researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions.

Compensation
Our compensation reflects the labor costs across various US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is determined by several factors, including market location and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Amazon is a total compensation company. Depending on the position, equity, sign-on bonuses, and other forms of compensation may be included as part of a comprehensive compensation package, alongside a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
