We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Operations Manager to oversee the financial functions at our corporate headquarters. This pivotal role involves leading the accounting team to ensure the precise and timely generation of financial statements for both internal stakeholders and external reporting. The position also emphasizes adherence to legal and regulatory standards while fostering the professional growth of the accounting staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and uphold financial policies, accounting principles, and procedures to maintain accurate fiscal records and prepare comprehensive financial reports in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger management, credit and collections, accounts payable, treasury, and tax functions.
- Ensure the integrity of financial records and establish a robust financial infrastructure, collaborating with the IT department to enhance accounting systems.
- Implement and enforce internal controls for accurate revenue and cost recognition, encompassing inventory valuation, accruals, and balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements for internal management and align with private equity ownership requirements on a regular basis.
- Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies across accounting functions, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to enhance productivity.
- Engage with operations and supply chain teams to address inventory and cost accounting challenges, ensuring accurate gross margin reporting.
- Co-lead the annual physical inventory process and ensure timely reconciliations between physical and book inventory.
- Conduct analysis of material, variable labor, and overhead costs, collaborating on projects to assess product and customer profitability.
- Maintain effective treasury operations, including banking relationships and cash management, while ensuring compliance with financial covenants.
- Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors, coordinating the planning and execution of annual audits and tax return preparations.
- Prepare and present financial analyses, summarizing data and comparing it to prior periods, budgets, or other key metrics.
- Establish procedures and internal controls to ensure compliance with organizational policies.
- Support executive management and the Board of Directors, undertaking additional responsibilities as assigned by the CFO.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required; CPA certification is mandatory, and an MBA is a plus.
- 7 to 10 years of progressive leadership experience in accounting and finance.
- Over 10 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, analysis, and budgeting within a manufacturing context.
- Preferred experience in standard product costing, inventory reconciliation, and operational variance analysis.
- A blend of public accounting and private industry experience is highly desirable, with a proven ability to drive change and enhance profitability.
- Demonstrated capacity to quickly grasp complex business processes and identify solutions to operational challenges.
- Strong adaptability and ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines effectively.
- Proficient in GAAP principles, cost accounting, and variance analysis.
- Exceptional organizational skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong reasoning and decision-making abilities based on logical and factual information.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with various levels of management.
- Proficient in building and maintaining effective working relationships across the organization.
- Strong interpersonal skills, capable of managing conflict and facilitating resolution.
- Advanced IT skills, particularly in Oracle, Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis software.
