**Job Description**
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Operations Leader to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned finance professional to take on significant responsibilities and contribute to the growth and success of our company. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for managing the accounting and reporting function, including the monthly closing, general ledger maintenance, and review and preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and internal control work. You will also be responsible for implementing and maintaining ongoing compliance with accounting policies and procedures, establishing a SOX compliant program, and ensuring adherence to internal control and guidance. Additionally, you will interact effectively across the organization and with external collaborators to efficiently research and resolve discrepancies and issues.
**Responsibilities**
* Take ownership of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting close, prepare monthly journal entries and GL reconciliations, compliance, lead the year-end audit process, review and process accounts payables and payroll.
* Manage related contracts and agreements and provide finance oversight of payment tracking. Support tax filing preparation. You'll be the check and balance on expenses and incoming funds and will ensure that invoices are authorized and approved prior to payment.
* Hands-on management and oversight of the company's financial operations
* Manage the accounting and reporting function consisting of the monthly closing, general ledger maintenance, review and prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and internal control work, including accruals and stock compensation entries
* Implement and maintain ongoing compliance with accounting policies and procedures. Establish a SOX compliant program and ensure adherence to internal control and guidance
* Actively contribute to the audits
* Interact effectively across organization and with external collaborators to efficiently research and resolve discrepancies and issues
* Support the development and coordination of annual budgets and forecasts
* Provide operational support to company as needed
**Qualifications**
* Life Science Industry experience a must
* CPA & Public Accounting experience
* Experience with AP and managing payroll. Experience managing Paylocity is a plus
* Experience managing audit processes and solid comprehension of SOX compliance
* NetSuite experience: NetSuite super-user
* Experience with Carta (equity administration) is a plus
* Solid Excel skills
* Exceptional judgment in prioritizing and making scheduling decisions
* Strong attention to detail with excellent verbal and written communications skills
* Ability to work in a small team setting and take on significant responsibilities during daily operations
**Salary**
We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, commensurate with experience, plus benefits and opportunities for growth and professional development.
