Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant who will have responsibility for various critical financial tasks, ensuring the financial health and integrity of Tarter Farm & Ranch. This role will have significant involvement in the company's accounting and financial functions, including assisting in the preparation and review of monthly financial packages and the financial statement audit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Month-End Close: Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting standards in the month-end closing process.
  • Journal Entry Preparation and Review: Prepare journal entries to accurately record financial transactions and maintain proper documentation.
  • Audit Coordination: Assist with coordination of external audits, collaborate with both auditors and our internal team to ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards and timely completion of the audit.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Monthly Financial Package Preparation and Review: Assist with preparation and review of the monthly financial package, including income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statements.
  • Assist with Profit and Loss Statement Preparation and Analysis: Conduct analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement, as well as investigating questions that come up in review.
  • Internal Controls: Help to develop, maintain and enhance internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
  • Special Projects: Undertake and complete special financial projects as assigned by your manager/senior management in the company.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA certification preferred).
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting and financial management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in accounting software, preference given to Epicor experience.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to financial transparency.
