Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise and support to internal stakeholders on environmental and social issues, policies, and positions, taking into consideration industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Identify and analyze a full range of known and emerging environmental and social issues relevant to our organization and produce high-quality executive summaries to inform our decision-making.
  • Manage and conduct environmental and social due diligence, working collaboratively with our lines of business and support functions.
  • Engage with external partners, including peer banks, NGOs, and shareholders, to incorporate feedback and best practices and monitor industry trends.
Critical Competencies
  • Prior experience in environmental and social risk management, evaluating clients and transactions for compliance with ESG policies and standards.
  • Experience working in a financial institution, understanding bank products and decision-making processes.
  • Critical thinking skills, capacity to process complex issues, and ability to analyze, interpret, and summarize vast amounts of information quickly.
  • Strong writing and research skills, combined with the ability to filter, summarize, and communicate complex relevant issues to executives and other internal and external audiences.
  • Ability to anticipate potential reputational risks for our organization before they arise.
