Job Opportunity: Field Organizer

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Field Organizer. As a Field Organizer, you will play a crucial role in establishing and expanding canvass offices, launching effective canvassing operations, and ensuring accountability through meticulous data monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and grow canvass offices in targeted communities, including scouting an office location, setting up the office, and creating an engaging office culture.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of canvassers who can effectively engage with voters, explain campaign messaging, and collect data.
  • Lead field operations including door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, voter registration, and get-out-the-vote efforts to mobilize support for the campaign.
  • Implement data-driven strategies to track and analyze campaign progress, voter engagement, and canvasser performance. Ensure accountability and optimization based on data insights.
  • Build relationships with community leaders, stakeholders, and local organizations to foster support and collaboration for the campaign.
  • Effectively communicate campaign goals, messaging, and updates to senior staff daily.
  • Travel – potentially extensively – to varying locations, spending extended periods (months) to independently oversee campaign operations and drive engagement.
  • Supervise and support canvassers, office staff, and supervisors, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to ensure a cohesive and motivated team.
  • Onboard and accurately track canvasser hours worked; work with administrative team to ensure timely compensation of canvassers.

Requirements:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to create meaningful connections with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Self-starter with the ability to spot problems and take action.
  • Ability to critically solve problems and make decisions in fast-paced and dynamic environments.
  • Flexibility to travel extensively and work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to inspire and mobilize others.
  • Passion for social and political change, with a commitment to advancing progressive values and causes.
  • Interest in and ability to work with people with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage your schedule and work with minimal supervision.

Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary range of $5,000-$7,500 per month, commensurate with experience. All positions can last through mid-November, with opportunity to extend and/or advance. We seek applicants of all levels to fill available roles leading and supporting grassroots campaigns across the country.

The ideal candidate should be ready to hit the ground running; however, training and onboarding will be provided as dictated by the requirements of the underlying project(s) on which a Field Organizer will be providing their services.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. We look forward to hearing from you.
