Position Overview:

The Front End Manager is responsible for ensuring efficient and accurate processing of customer transactions while fostering a positive shopping experience. This role involves overseeing the front-end operations, managing staff, and addressing customer inquiries and issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, train, and evaluate cashiers and front-end staff to maintain high service standards.
  • Implement safe operating procedures and ensure compliance among team members.
  • Make staffing recommendations, including hiring and promotions, to optimize team performance.
  • Anticipate peak shopping times and develop effective scheduling for cashiers and loaders to minimize wait times.
  • Ensure all sales transactions are processed accurately, including cart-to-cart transfers as part of loss prevention efforts.
  • Monitor front-end operations to maintain security and integrity of transactions.
  • Assist customers with loading products and ensure a smooth transition to the parking area.
  • Conduct regular checks to verify the accuracy of product counts and transactions.
  • Ensure front-end areas are well-staffed and equipped for efficient service, including functional scanners and registers.
  • Review and document errors made by cashiers and loaders for training purposes.
  • Handle customer adjustments, returns, and other transactions to ensure a seamless checkout experience.
  • Maintain logs of improperly labeled items and ensure timely corrections.
  • Engage with customers to gather feedback on service quality and product availability.
  • Keep a record of new item requests and review them regularly with management.
  • Ensure that the front end is adequately stocked with necessary supplies, including customer feedback cards and informational materials.
  • Assign tasks to staff during slower periods to maintain productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with testing and operational standards among supervisory staff.
  • Maintain the organization and presentation of front-end displays and stock areas.

Additional Duties:

  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in customer service or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret business documents and technical procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations related to discounts and totals.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to manage sensitive situations.
  • Commitment to customer service excellence and company values.
  • Proficiency in computer applications relevant to the role.

Work Environment:

  • The work environment is generally room temperature, with variations due to proximity to exit doors and store activity levels.
