Job Title: Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)

About Us:
The Kidz Club is a Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) center providing high-quality and intensive PT, OT, and ST services to medically-complex children. Our team is dedicated to helping children with special needs and their families.

Our Expectations:
We are seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with pediatric patients, particularly those with feeding and/or high- and low-tech AAC needs. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to provide play-based therapy and early intervention services. Comfort with treating a wide range of patients, from NICU-discharged infants to young adults in wheelchairs, is essential. You must be able to work well with other therapists and staff, and be comfortable with basic medical terminology and processes.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide therapy using evidence-based practice for clients with communication and swallowing difficulties.
  2. Complete all documentation in a timely and thorough manner.
  3. Provide education and guidance to clients, families, and caregivers on strategies for carry-over therapy at home.
  4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.
  5. Stay current with advancements in the field through continuing education and professional development activities.
  6. Adhere to ethical and professional standards outlined by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and state licensing boards.
Qualifications:
  1. Completion of one of the three ASHA's SLPA eligibility requirement tracks.
  2. SLPA state licensure from the Florida Department of Health.
  3. Clinical experience working with the pediatric population, particularly with medical pediatric patients.
  4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  5. Proficiency in standardized assessment tools, therapeutic interventions, and assistive technologies relevant to the field.
  6. Commitment to maintaining professional competency and adhering to HIPAA policies and ethical standards.
  7. Current CPR (BLS) certificate.
