Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathology Assistant to join our team at Northeast Washington Educational Service District. As a Speech Language Pathology Assistant, you will work closely with our speech language pathologists to provide support to students with speech and language disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist speech language pathologists with speech, language, and hearing screenings, as well as assessments and treatment planning.
  • Implement treatment plans and protocols developed by supervising speech language pathologists to deliver effective therapy to students.
  • Schedule student learning times and instruct individual students in phonetic alphabet, vocabulary, and language skills.
  • Document student performance and provide data to supervising speech language pathologists.
  • Program and provide instruction in the use of augmentative and alternative communication devices.
  • Assist with clerical duties, such as preparing materials and scheduling activities, as directed by speech language pathologists.
  • Support speech language pathologists in research projects, in-service training, public relations, and marketing of the NEWESD 101 special education cooperative.
  • Perform upkeep and maintenance of equipment to ensure delivery of therapy is not interrupted.
  • Attend meetings and trainings as requested to receive and provide information.
  • Assist other personnel as needed to ensure an efficient and effective work environment.
Requirements
  • Job-related experience within the specialized field is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in communications disorder or speech language pathology, or a Speech Language Pathology Assistant certificate.
  • Valid driver's license, required auto insurance, and reliable personal transportation.
  • WSP/FBI criminal history background clearance (at employee's expense).
