Job Summary

The County of Geary, KS is seeking a highly skilled Administrative Support Specialist II to join our team. As a key member of our administrative staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our Jail Administrator and contributing to the smooth operation of the Geary County Detention Center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule Management: Ensure accurate and efficient scheduling of staff, including preparing and maintaining monthly schedules and identifying potential conflicts.
  • Fiscal Duties: Maintain accurate records of inmate funds, including deposits and expenditures, and process billing for outside law enforcement agencies.
  • Administrative Duties: Provide clerical support to the administrator, including recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new staff members, as well as maintaining inventory and ordering office supplies.
  • Civil Process: Process and manage civil papers, including warrants, PFA's/PFS's, and other documents, and provide excellent customer service to the public.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Two years of experience in clerical and data entry, with NCIC certification within six months of hire.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to maintain a professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
Working Environment

This is a full-time position that requires regular attendance and the ability to work in a dynamic office environment. The successful candidate will be able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines, and will be committed to providing exceptional service to our customers.
