Job Description

Job Title: Systems Administrator II

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator II to join our team at Epsilon. As a Systems Administrator II, you will be responsible for supporting the administration and maintenance of IT infrastructures, including domestic and international data centers, for a large federal enterprise effort.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the administration and maintenance of Windows and Linux servers, ensuring reliable system performance.
  • Support the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems and applications.
  • Work with virtualization technologies, such as VMware and Hyper-V, to support virtual environments.
  • Implement basic security measures, including system hardening and routine patching.
  • Assist with managing storage solutions (SAN, NAS) and backup/recovery operations.
  • Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery activities.
  • Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and standard operating guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve routine system issues and respond to service requests.
  • Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to ensure system compatibility and integration.
  • Provide input on system design and enhancements, contributing to the improvement of the overall infrastructure.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in systems administration, working with both Windows and Linux environments.
  • Familiarity with managing Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy in enterprise environments.
  • Basic experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, or similar technologies.
  • Understanding of storage management, including SAN and NAS, and backup/recovery processes.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
  • Experience with basic scripting and automation tools, such as PowerShell or Ansible, for routine tasks.
  • Awareness of IT security best practices and compliance standards like NIST or FISMA.
  • Good troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose and resolve basic system issues.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must have an active Top Secret with SCI eligibility.
  • Will be subject to a federal background investigation.

Working Conditions:

Prolonged periods of computer desk work. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and other computer components. Speaking and hearing are sufficient to converse and understand conversations, both in-person, telephone, and virtual meetings. The cognitive skills needed to complete tasks, including abilities such as learning, remembering, focusing, categorizing, and integrating information for decision-making, problem-solving, and comprehending. Ability to learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow, and the ability to communicate with managers and co-workers. Mental aptitude to respond appropriately in high-pressure situations or deadline-driven environments. Maintain a professional emotional response when working with others.
