As an Insurance Sales Consultant, you will play a crucial role in cultivating a profitable portfolio while enhancing our strategic partnerships with carriers. Reporting directly to the Sales Leader, you will collaborate with fellow consultants on the Sales Team to drive revenue growth through an internal lead generation system and by establishing your own network of referrals and partnerships. Your responsibilities will include upselling, account management, and cross-referring to other business units.

  • Utilize lead lists and inbound inquiries to convert potential clients into loyal customers.
  • Develop and maintain reliable referral partnerships within the community.
  • Organize and conduct client meetings to secure new business opportunities.
  • Craft customized insurance proposals that meet clients' specific needs, ensuring appropriate carrier placement and coverage.
  • Manage multiple tasks efficiently, including scheduling appointments, maintaining task lists, and responding to emails.
  • Achieve or surpass annual sales targets set in collaboration with the Sales Manager and Vice President of Sales.
  • Engage in a mentor-mentee relationship with senior team members to support team objectives.
  • Facilitate a smooth onboarding process for clients, introducing them to policy service resources and the Account Management team.
  • Regularly complete necessary reports related to pipeline and production.
  • Foster an inclusive and motivating sales culture through personal accountability and goal achievement.
  • Actively participate in sales meetings and organizational events.
  • Clearly communicate the capabilities of Alera Group to prospects and clients to encourage cross-selling opportunities.
  • Understand and support the implementation of Alera Group's initiatives, policies, and programs, working diligently towards organizational goals.
  • Strengthen client relationships and enhance the Alera brand through community engagement and social interaction.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships within Alera Group, valuing the contributions of all team members and collaborating towards common goals.
  • Adhere to proper insurance standards, safeguarding confidential information and maintaining the highest ethical standards.
  • Actively contribute to local community initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in the insurance industry.
  • Proven customer service and sales experience.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Possess the necessary knowledge and technical skills to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, practices, and continuing education, leveraging carrier resources for knowledge.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret online company manuals and insurance documentation.
  • Valid Michigan Property & Casualty Insurance License.
