Job OverviewPosition Summary

The Senior Vice President of Treasury Operations is responsible for leading the Treasury division at Redwood Trust, ensuring the adequacy of cash and capital while facilitating the smooth execution of all transaction settlements. This executive role collaborates closely with various business units and provides support to the Treasurer. Additionally, the position requires effective coordination with external partners, including investment banks, warehouse lenders, custodians, and loan servicers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily functions of team members and offer assistance during peak treasury activity periods.
  • Oversee daily treasury cash requirements and allocations across all subsidiary accounts.
  • Manage cash management and financing operations for non-agency conduit and business purpose lending platforms.
  • Conduct daily cash reconciliations for wires, internal transfers, and bank-to-bank transactions related to corporate activities.
  • Administer the management of the Company's credit facilities, ensuring adequate liquidity and optimizing balance sheet leverage.
  • Collaborate with residential conduit and business purpose lending teams to solicit, negotiate, and establish new financing arrangements.
  • Oversee daily derivative and financing cash margining obligations.
  • Implement and monitor compliance with corporate policies.
  • Ensure adherence to all external counterparty financial covenants and collateral eligibility criteria.
  • Stay informed on regulatory changes and adapt policies as needed.
  • Maintain ISDA and MRA operative documents with existing and new registered dealers.
  • Supervise quarterly and annual internal audit evaluations and address any identified issues.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting.
  • 15+ years of experience in corporate treasury or accounting roles.
  • Proficient understanding of fixed income, mortgage-backed securities, and residential loans.
  • Experience with business purpose lending warehouse financing and security REPO.
  • Involvement in financial derivative trading and settlements.
  • Strong capability to build and sustain relationships both externally and internally.
  • Ability to function effectively as part of a team.
  • Excellent quantitative, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills.
  • Capacity to perform under pressure and manage multiple tasks with precision.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Aptitude for setting individual objectives, working in a dynamic trading desk environment, and managing several initiatives concurrently.

A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this role is $180k - 250K annually. The actual salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, geographic location, training, licensure and certification, and other factors.
