Dental Assistant II Position

The Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services is seeking a highly skilled Dental Assistant II to join our team. As a key member of our dental department, you will be responsible for providing direct healthcare support to residents at our San Antonio State Supported Living Center.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist dental staff with patient care, exposing and developing x-rays, and maintaining infection control standards.
Manage dental supply inventories, schedule appointments, and enter data for each appointment.
Provide oral self-care counseling to patients and staff, and assist with desensitization procedures as needed.
Maintain dental treatment records and perform minor dental laboratory procedures.
Requirements:
Registered with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners as a "Registered Dental Assistant".
Ability to communicate effectively, train others, and use computers and office management software.
Knowledge of dental instruments, equipment, and materials, as well as sterilization methods and x-ray film exposure and processing techniques.
