Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Boston Children's Hospital. As a key member of our pediatric radiology department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and evaluate requisitions for diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring appropriateness and accuracy.
  • Abstract data from patient charts and determine the need for routine examinations.
  • Select and operate appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
  • Assess patients' physical and emotional status, developing a care plan to meet their specific needs.
  • Explain examinations and answer questions from patients and parents regarding radiation exposure and safety practices.
  • Follow departmental quality control and data integrity protocols.
  • Respond to patient uniqueness, creating a supportive environment for patients and families.
  • Identify and report equipment malfunctions through the INeedit application.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining daily operations, participating in departmental and hospital meetings.
  • Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner, complying with ETU and HIPAA regulations.
  • Practice the 6 core values of the Hospital: excellence, innovation, communication, respect, teamwork, and accountability.
  • Maintain up-to-date licensure, certification, and registration in departmental files.
Requirements
  • An Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology is required.
  • MA Radiographer license and ARRT certification are required.
  • The ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
