Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Special Procedures Technologist to join our team at Northwell Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing and assisting with interventional and imaging procedures, upholding the highest standards of practice as a registered technologist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform exams under the direction of a Senior Special Procedures Technologist and maintain quality assurance.
  • Demonstrate ability to access patient information, including appointment times, exam types, and patient reports.
  • Competently schedule exams in a computer application from the order entry queue and/or modify exams as necessary.
  • Effectively assess patient information and status, implementing procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards.
  • Clearly explain procedures and equipment to patients, positioning them and radiographic equipment appropriately for radiographed body parts.
  • Perform related duties as required, with all responsibilities considered essential functions under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Requirements
  • Vocational or technical school diploma required.
  • Current license to practice as a radiologist in New York State and current ARRT radiology registration required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
  • 1-3 years of technical experience required.
