Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Grants Analyst or Senior Grants Analyst to join our team at the San Mateo County Transit District. As a key member of our Grants and Fund Programming department, you will play a critical role in securing funding opportunities, managing grant applications, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and regional regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grant Management: Identify and secure funding opportunities, prepare and submit grant applications, and monitor the financial status of grant-funded projects.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and regional funding regulations, and prepare reports and responses to audits or inquiries.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with internal divisions and external funding partners to secure additional funding and ensure successful project outcomes.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Transportation/Urban Planning, Business Administration, Public Policy, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience: Four (4) years of full-time progressively responsible experience in planning, project management, or professional-level grant management, including analytical and budgetary support for projects.
  • Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience with complex grant writing, and strong organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Funding Programs: Knowledge of federal, state, and regional funding programs, with experience in transportation/transit capital planning and fund programming.
  • Grant Writing and Management: Experience with life cycle grant processing and management, including compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations.
