Position Overview:

The Financial Reporting & Corporate Planning Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial analysis and accounting for various budgets, including employee compensation and benefits. This role manages the reporting and maintenance of the organization's operational and capital budgets, while also assisting in their development. The position involves analyzing and maintaining cost data for compliance reporting and executing selected accounting tasks in accordance with organizational policies and procedures. The manager will engage in a variety of financial reporting functions on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, including the preparation and review of reports for both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the annual budget for operations and capital expenditures. Administer ongoing analysis of budget and operational expenses, along with the preparation of periodic reports for management and the Board of Directors. Innovate and implement new processes related to budgeting.
  • Oversee the accounting and analysis of employee compensation and benefits, including monitoring and calculating the results of the organization's incentive plans.
  • Support the development and maintenance of functional cost allocation and budgeting applications, ensuring data integrity and system functionality, while also developing enhancements and maintaining thorough documentation.
  • Prepare, analyze, and maintain cost data for compliance reporting, taking responsibility for the preparation, treatment, analysis, and systems analysis of cost data.
  • Assist in the preparation, analysis, and review of periodic reports for management, the Board of Directors, and regulatory bodies, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP and internal control processes.
  • Stay informed on accounting principles and standards relevant to the field.
  • Engage with various levels of staff to foster positive employee relations within the workplace.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by management, often taking a leadership role.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field is required; a Master's Degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience, along with a CPA designation, is preferred.
  • A minimum of seven years of relevant experience in banking or financial institutions is required.
  • Advanced understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, FASB standards, and SEC regulations is essential.
  • Expertise in budgeting processes to assess capital expenditures and operational costs is necessary.
  • A comprehensive understanding of accounting systems, including general ledger and automated/manual support systems, is required.
  • Strong analytical skills to compile, interpret, and analyze data are crucial, with a keen attention to detail under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while following established guidelines and recognizing complex situations to propose and implement solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for effective interaction and relationship-building with internal and external stakeholders.
  • High proficiency in personal computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office, is required. Familiarity with XBRL and Workiva applications is preferred.
  • Knowledge of employee relations and human resources management is important for addressing employee issues proactively and handling sensitive information with discretion.
