Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our Patient Engagement Center team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in facilitating patient access to care and providing administrative and patient care supportive duties under the direction of a licensed nurse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scheduling and Communication
    • Schedule appointments and route messages in our electronic health record system
    • Assist with medication refills and perform other duties as needed
  • Patient Advocacy
    • Act as a patient advocate, responding to patient requests for provider referrals and health information
    • Report obtained medical information from patients and referring physicians accurately and timely
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Disseminate messages according to our communication standard work
    • Interact with patients, providers, and community services in a professional and courteous manner
  • Confidentiality and Integrity
    • Maintain confidentiality of information regarding patients, providers, and coworkers
    • Demonstrate respect for individual, cultural, and social differences
Requirements
  • Education
    • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is strongly preferred
    • High school or GED graduation is required
  • Experience
    • No experience required for Level I
    • At least 1 year of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting for Level II
    • At least 3 years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting for Level III
  • Certifications
    • Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA, or ARMA required
    • BLS required
