Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our medical staff in delivering exceptional patient experiences.
Key Responsibilities- Take medical histories and record vital signs, explaining treatment procedures to patients and preparing them for examinations and procedures.
- Assist medical and nursing staff during examinations and procedures, collect and prepare laboratory specimens, and perform basic laboratory tests in the clinic/office.
- Dispose of contaminated supplies, process instruments, and perform high-level disinfection and sterilization of medical instruments.
- Prepare and administer medications as directed by physicians, and authorize drug refills as directed.
- Perform other clinical functions as delegated and supervised by physicians.
- Greet patients, answer telephones, schedule appointments, and check out patients.
- Arrange for hospital admissions and laboratory services, update and file patient medical records, and fill out forms.
- Handle billing, bookkeeping, and correspondence, and order clinical and clerical supplies and forms.
- Perform other administrative duties as directed.
- Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA, or ARMA required.
- BLS certification required.
- Graduation from a medical assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) is strongly preferred.
- High school or GED graduation is required.
- At least 1 year of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting is required for Level II and III positions.
