Our client, a prominent player in the commercial real estate and property management sector, is in search of an Accounts Receivable Coordinator.

In this essential role, you will oversee and ensure the precision of financial documentation related to tenant rent collections and other income streams for the organization. This position is crucial for sustaining the company's cash flow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process rent collections received from tenants through various channels (cash, check, online payments)
  • Allocate rent payments to the appropriate tenant ledger accounts
  • Administer security deposits, including processing refunds and applying them to outstanding balances
  • Generate invoices and statements for tenants regarding rent and additional charges
  • Monitor and track outstanding accounts receivable and initiate collection efforts for overdue payments
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in tenant accounts
  • Reconcile accounts receivable with the general ledger
  • Produce reports on accounts receivable activities, aging reports, and other financial metrics
  • Address tenant inquiries related to billing and account statements
  • Maintain precise and current records of all accounts receivable transactions
  • May undertake additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in accounting or a related discipline (preferred)
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounts receivable or a comparable role
  • Prior experience in real estate accounts receivable is essential
  • Strong grasp of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and real estate software (Excel, Word, JD Edwards, MRI, Yardi, etc.)
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively
