The Dracut Public Schools is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide high-quality student health care services. As a key member of our health services team, you will work closely with our registered nurses to assess, deliver, and monitor daily student health care, including medication and treatment administration.
Responsibilities:
Assess and deliver daily student health care, including medication and treatment administration, with registered nurse supervision and consultation.
Comply with all applicable school district policy and procedure, health services practices, and scope of practice for LPN licensure.
Coordinate, plan, and administer Mandated Vision and Hearing Screenings for the district.
Monitor students in various settings (e.g., classroom, transportation, field trips) for the purpose of providing care as defined by student health plans and assessment of student needs.
Implement student health care plans and emergency care plans as directed by the registered nurse.
Participate in health-promoting prevention/intervention efforts.
Cover medical offices in the absence of a school nurse.
Utilize the medical database to maintain accurate and current records pertaining to student health room visits, medication and treatment administration, immunizations, screening results, and injury reports.
Participate in ongoing communication with the registered nurse regarding student health issues.
Assist with ordering and maintaining adequate health room supplies.
Maintain confidentiality.
Travel between school buildings.
Work Year:
School year
Work Day: 7 hours a day
Reports to: Head Nurse Director of Student Services
