Position Summary
The Foundry Production Specialist is essential to the metal casting operations, responsible for the safe and effective management of machinery, the preparation and oversight of molds, and the assurance of product quality. This position demands meticulous attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and a cooperative spirit in a dynamic manufacturing setting.
Compensation: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and prepare the furnace and tools for mold setup.
- Mold Management: Prepare and maintain molds, including cleaning, repairing, and patching, to ensure consistent quality and longevity.
- Conduct inspections of molds for any defects, such as cracks or surface flaws, and implement necessary corrective measures.
- Material Handling: Safely manage and transport raw materials and finished products using the appropriate equipment and procedures.
- Safety Adherence: Follow all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and engage in regular safety training and meetings.
- Equipment Operation: Operate foundry machinery, such as furnaces and ladles, in accordance with operational guidelines and perform routine maintenance.
- Record Keeping: Accurately document production metrics, material usage, and quality control data for each casting cycle.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience is advantageous.
Prior experience in a foundry or metal casting setting is preferred.
Familiarity with various metal alloys, melting points, and casting methods is beneficial.
Ability to interpret technical documents and specifications.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality outputs.
Good physical endurance and capability to work in a hot, demanding environment.
Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach.
Basic computer skills for data entry and record maintenance.
