Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Junior Auditor to join our team at Dallas County. As a Junior Auditor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform fiscal and contractual audits of records of various county departments and/or grants
- Assist in the preparation of reports and provide administrative support
- Review, verify, and maintain records for various desk audits, including bank accounts, reimbursements, receipts, and deposits
- Analyze and reconcile transactions to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Retrieve and research financial statements, invoices, and other transactional records for internal control risks
- Respond to complex inquiries and communicate with various departments, attorneys, clients, and outside entities regarding policies and procedures
- Review and verify inventory records of departments and prepare a report of associated findings
Requirements
- Education and experience equivalent to an Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field of study
- One (1) year of work-related experience
- Skilled in the use of standard software applications
- Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments, and the general public
- Must have a valid Texas Driver's License and good driving record
Working Conditions
This is a standard office environment that may require prolonged sitting, standing, and walking, and the ability to lift files, boxes, and other materials up to 25 lbs., unassisted.
