Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Event Operations Technician to assist with the daily set up and breakdown of funeral events, catered receptions, artistic performances, staff meetings, and other public and private events taking place at Mount Auburn Cemetery.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that the appearance and general condition of indoor and outdoor event spaces meet Mount Auburn's standard of excellence.
  • Prioritize safety and follow Mount Auburn's codes, regulations, and safety and accessibility standards.
  • Responsible for Events Operations in the absence of the Events Operations Supervisor.
  • Follow event set-up sheets and floor plans to ensure every event meets expectations.
  • Heavy work that includes moving and adjusting objects, assembling and breaking down tables, chairs, podiums, easels, flipcharts, tents, and shade structures.
  • Drive Cemetery vehicles to move event equipment to and from locations throughout Cemetery campus.
  • Deliver Mount Auburn-supplied items to caterers, including trash receptacles and ice.
  • Handle equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide final touch-up cleaning of event space after event load-in and set-up is completed.
  • Monitor events and check in with guest-facing events team to provide operational support as necessary.
  • Assist with management and maintenance of all event supplies and furnishings.
  • Receive delivery of and assemble new event supplies and furnishings.
  • Organize and maintain cleanliness of supply storage areas.
  • Participate in regular safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments.
  • Participate in professional development training opportunities.
  • Understand company processes, follow procedures.
  • Work irregular hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Communicate effectively and timely to department leaders, co-workers, and management.
  • Maintain hours worked and time off requests for in Paycom.
  • Work overtime hours as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with any cemetery business, including special meetings, conferences, Friends events, and public programs as needed.
  • Demonstrate responsible stewardship for the environment when planning and implementing all duties incorporated in job description.
