Project Goals:
Through a series of community engagement efforts, CZInt seeks to foster relationships among scientists investigating Earth's Critical Zone—the area where geology, hydrology, ecology, and human activity converge—across multiple countries.

Employment Details:
This role is part-time and hourly, not eligible for benefits. The starting hourly wage is $29.58.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and distribute a quarterly newsletter to CZInt-affiliated scientists.
  • Organize, promote, and execute a monthly webinar series, providing technical support to ensure accessibility and recording for future reference.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of scientists involved in CZInt activities, including analysis of survey results from webinars and events.
  • Provide administrative assistance to project leads, including minute-taking and summarizing discussions with international collaborators.
  • Support the consultancy responsible for promoting CZInt via social media platforms.
  • Coordinate logistics for CZInt meetings at various international conferences and manage travel awards for participants.
  • Lead a global polling initiative within the Critical Zone research community to compile a prioritized list of research objectives, summarizing findings for inclusion in a comprehensive report.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual and final reports detailing CZInt activities for funding agencies.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an aptitude for working with diverse populations.
Experience with reimbursement processes and basic budget management principles.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Proficiency in designing and implementing polling methods for large-scale data collection.

Technical Skills:
Experience with video conferencing tools and managing online webinars for a global audience.
Familiarity with cloud-based file management systems and software for creating visually appealing newsletters.

Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands to operate various technologies. Occasional attendance at evening and weekend events may be necessary.
