About the Role

We are seeking a highly seasoned and experienced technologist to drive transformation for our infrastructure from on-premises stacks to cloud-based solutions. This includes owning modernization and standardization of our infrastructure tools and services that enable all of our brands.

This critical member of the Technical Operations Leadership team will report to the Head of TechOps. In this capacity, you will lead in defining, delivering, operating, and evolving our on-prem and cloud compute virtualization, storage, backup, database, middleware, data integration, network, and messaging infrastructure.

You will directly influence and implement strategic improvements to Gap's network architecture, cloud infrastructure, and accountability to ensure high availability to Gap's business.

This transformative leader with deep technical infrastructure & hybrid cloud experience will drive a successful DevOps model, leading and being instrumental in driving our journey of adoption that will shift workloads from co-located data centers to a public cloud model through scalable infrastructure solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing executive leadership to support, grow, and empower the teams responsible for supporting On-premise compute servers, cloud infrastructure, public cloud IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, data engineering, and batch operations;
  • Leading the infrastructure Team responsible for designing, building, deploying, and maintaining the IT infrastructure using the latest technology in a proactive way ensuring systems are fully operational for the organization (Network, Cloud virtualization, Compute, Storage, Backup, Messaging Infrastructure, Data Integration, Middleware, and Database);
  • Modeling collaboration with the Product, Engineering, and Security teams to design and build world-class infrastructure that enables 24x7 high performance/availability that focuses on reliability and scalability of our platforms;
  • Developing key relationships with business units to coordinate efforts and activities to execute on the company's technology growth strategy, hardware and software hygiene, and infrastructure scalability;
  • Overseeing planning and delivery of cloud infrastructure transformation initiatives & data center exits; developing goals aligned with customer needs, delivery speed, cost, and service objectives;
  • Leading and driving planning to support high performance of our omni-channel experience;
  • Managing the infrastructure operating budget effectively to help us get faster, cheaper, and better in our operational footprint;

The ideal candidate will have experience with Azure IaaS and PaaS services, including VMs, Azure DevOps, Azure Load Balancer, Azure Firewall, Azure storage services, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Active Directory, or equivalent services.

Additionally, they should have experience with infrastructure tools and orchestration for infra hardware, software, networking, data centers, virtualization & Cloud services, backup & Disaster recovery, monitoring, and management - inclusive of legacy and modernized tools such as VM Ware, IBM DB2, Dell Power Edge, Pure Storage, Cohesity, VLANs, SDWAN, MPLS, etc.

The salary for this role is estimated to be around $180,000 per year, based on industry standards and the level of experience required.
