Job Overview:
Oversees the operational activities of multiple complex departments delivering outpatient care services; ensuring that personnel provide high-quality, accessible, and cost-effective care while maintaining a patient-centered approach that adheres to local, state, and federal regulations. Responsible for implementing and upholding clinical practice standards, managing budgets, and fostering staff development; delivering nursing and patient care services that enhance value, align with business objectives, and meet or exceed performance benchmarks in cost, quality, and clinical utilization.
Key Responsibilities:
Directs daily operations and guarantees that staff deliver the utmost quality of care while complying with the Nurse Practice Act, NCQA, and all relevant regulations.
- Establishes and maintains patient care and quality service standards to fulfill the expectations of members and internal stakeholders.
- Acts as a patient advocate to address and resolve care-related issues.
- Evaluates and recommends process improvements to enhance systems and patient care outcomes across the care continuum.
- Assists in the development and oversight of budgets and resource allocation.
- Monitors financial performance, identifying strategies to reduce costs while enhancing the quality of care and services.
Determines the optimal staffing mix for the department and develops processes for screening, interviewing, hiring, training, and ensuring the competency of all department personnel.
Facilitates ongoing staff development initiatives.
Implements and oversees departmental policies and procedures that align with the organization's goals and objectives, ensuring compliance.
Collaborates with physicians, department leaders, and nursing managers to establish appropriate patient service levels and manage daily departmental operations.
Assists in addressing and resolving human resource, labor relations, employee safety, and risk management challenges.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years in a management or supervisory role (including lead or charge experience).
Education:
Bachelor's degree in healthcare, public or business administration, or a related field, or four (4) years of experience in a directly related area.
High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) is required.
License, Certification, Registration: N/AAdditional Qualifications:
Proven interpersonal skills; familiarity with outpatient care practices, operations, and regulatory requirements.
Ability to demonstrate proficiency with electronic health records within six months of hire.
Must be able to thrive in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in healthcare management.
Possession of a valid license in the state of WA as a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or another relevant healthcare license.
