Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Operations Manager to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of our continuing care department, ensuring the delivery of safe, appropriate, and accessible care and service to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily operations of assigned members, including sub-acute and long-term care, to ensure optimal delivery of care and service.
  • Support and facilitate coordination of workflow across our care continuum, partnering with our NHS leadership team and supporting care coordination efforts in our contracted and non-contracted SNF facilities.
  • Collaborate with managers and CMLNs in the medical centers to align operations and implement/monitor interdisciplinary change initiatives, including access, workflow, quality, service, and safety improvements.
  • Ensure the implementation and execution of IQM and CCQM quality initiatives, aligning with our line of service line goals to support optimal care in our NHS environments.
  • Assure that staff deliver patient care that meets or exceeds clinical quality and safety standards, training and supporting staff in delivering a consistent customer experience.
  • Manage staff, including selection, training, and development, performance management, recognition, discipline, and termination, supporting all team members in achieving performance expectations and standards.
  • Assist with managing budgets for care management, identifying innovative and integrated ways to optimize performance, and making operational adjustments as needed to meet financial targets.
  • Establish processes to monitor and support frontline staff in maintaining operational standards and practice in accordance with local, state, and federal requirements, ensuring ongoing compliance and adherence to KPWA policy/procedure, and other compliance, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
Requirements
  • Minimum two (2) years of Case Management experience as a nurse in the subacute environment or hospital.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience as a charge nurse, lead, or supervisor in a clinical environment managing the day-to-day work flow and performance of others, identifying and meeting customer requirements, and working effectively with medical staff.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to mentor, develop, and engage staff, monitor performance standards, deliver results, and hold staff accountable.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and change management skills.
  • Two (2) years of experience as a clinical lead or supervisor in a long-term care environment managing the day-to-day workflow and performance of others, identifying, and meeting customer requirements, and working effectively with medical staff.
  • Three (3) years of increasingly responsible operations experience as a supervisor, lead roles, and/or lead case manager.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, managed care, healthcare delivery systems, and nursing practice.
