GLOBAL MARKETS

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Global Markets is on the lookout for an Associate to become a part of the Remediation Risk team within the Global Markets Operating Risk organization.

The Global Markets Operating Risk organization is tasked with overseeing Operational Risk across various sectors including Sales, Trading, Engineering, and Operations. This includes Supervision, Conduct, Control Remediation, and Business Resiliency for the Global Markets Division, collaborating closely with teams in Operations and Engineering, Compliance, Risk, Legal, and Internal Audit.

The ideal candidate will possess a keen interest in joining a dynamic and entrepreneurial team, with a strong passion for the markets, and will thrive in fast-paced, changing environments. A solid understanding of or interest in either (a) the Securities businesses and markets or (b) risk management techniques is essential, along with excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Collaborate with senior divisional leadership to develop, implement, and sustain a remediation risk program for the Global Markets Division.
  • Engage with Business, Operations, Engineering, and federation personnel to build complex solutions while managing competing priorities.
  • Oversee the program of work for large-scale risk remediation projects that significantly impact the division, including regulatory and control remediation as well as other audit-related initiatives.
  • Comprehend strategic plans, commercial drivers, and technical architecture to influence, design, and develop solutions for enhanced risk mitigation programs and governance.
  • Create management reporting, dashboards, and strategic tools to highlight high-risk areas, improving visibility and facilitating escalation to senior leadership.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Science, Mathematics, Management Information Systems, or Engineering preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Experience in a risk management or control discipline, within the financial industry or other sectors.
  • Strong project management and process improvement capabilities.
  • Demonstrated interest in financial markets and products.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey information concisely and accurately.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Commercially focused, team-oriented, and self-motivated.
