Position: Culinary Support Specialist

Work Schedule: Full-time, Day Shifts

Department: Facilities and General Services

Role Summary

The Culinary Support Specialist plays a vital role in our food service operations, with responsibilities that include:

  • Monitoring and documenting food temperatures to ensure safety and quality.
  • Setting up and maintaining a clean, organized serving area.
  • Preparing and serving meals, while restocking food supplies as needed.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment and dining areas.
  • Processing transactions for food and beverages using a computerized cash register.

This position adheres to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards, ensuring food safety and quality. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service and foster positive interactions with both patrons and team members.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Operate various kitchen equipment, including grills, beverage dispensers, and dishwashers.
  • Demonstrate reliability and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Exhibit a strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Be prepared to be on your feet for extended periods and cover significant distances within the facility.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum age of 16 years.
  • Previous experience in customer service or food service is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow both oral and written instructions.
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions.
  • Willingness to undergo on-the-job training.

Depending on the location, certification in Serv Safe may be required within a specified timeframe. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may also be necessary based on location-specific requirements.
