Position Summary: The Administrator holds the critical responsibility of overseeing the daily operations of both the assisted living and skilled nursing facilities. This role involves ensuring adherence to all regulatory standards and acting as the primary contact for regulatory bodies. The Administrator is tasked with developing and implementing administrative policies that support compliance and uphold industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead compliance initiatives and prepare for regulatory surveys, including audits and reports.
  • Collaborate with the management team to set strategic goals aligned with the organization’s mission.
  • Direct response efforts during regulatory evaluations and investigations.
  • Manage resident and family inquiries, ensuring concerns are addressed appropriately.
  • Continuously assess organizational and customer expectations to enhance service delivery.
  • Oversee the daily functions of the facilities, maintaining accurate records and data.
  • Provide technical support related to both hardware and software as needed.
  • Prepare and present reports for various committees, including quality assurance groups.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements and implement necessary changes.
  • Lead special projects as assigned by the CEO.
  • Support change management initiatives with a positive leadership presence.
  • Ensure all policies are current and develop new policies as required.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert for the electronic medical record system.
  • Work with the CEO on long-term operational planning for facility improvements.
  • Address concerns raised by community ombudsmen and other officials.
  • Manage financial performance, including budgeting and expense oversight.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a valid nursing home administrator license in California or be eligible to obtain one within six months.
  • Must be licensed or certified as an RCFE administrator in California or able to obtain certification within three months.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and a minimum of three years of experience in skilled nursing or assisted living is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and operational policies for skilled nursing and residential care facilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using personal computers and software to troubleshoot issues.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate responsibilities effectively.
  • Strong supervisory skills for recruiting and training staff.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by the aging population.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and capable of learning new software applications.
  • Ability to work independently and produce professional documentation.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the organization’s operations and terminology.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform tasks involving lifting and carrying materials up to 35 lbs.
  • Frequent use of computers and office equipment.
  • Work primarily in an office setting with occasional interaction with residents.
