About the Job

Cyfle is seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineering Department Manager to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and overseeing the design and project management of various civil engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Oversee the design and project management of civil engineering projects, including land development, infrastructure design, and construction document preparation.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of engineers and provide guidance and mentorship to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Business Development: Develop and implement business strategies to grow the engineering department and increase revenue.
  • Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Quality Control: Oversee the quality of construction documents and designs to ensure they meet budget and time goals.
  • Permitting and Coordination: Coordinate with authorities having jurisdiction to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
  • Project Proposals and Contract Management: Develop project proposals and manage contracts to ensure successful project execution.
  • Financial Management: Manage project budgets and ensure timely invoicing to clients.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer Registration: Professional Engineer registration in North Carolina and South Carolina preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of professional engineering design and project management experience.
  • Skills: Strong background in land development, site planning, grading design, and construction document preparation. Ability to coordinate tasks and projects with other department managers, engineers, surveyors, and planners. Experience mentoring project managers and engineers-in-training/design staff. AutoCAD Civil 3D and design software experience preferred.
