National Security Policy Specialist

Position Overview:
The role of a Policy Analyst is pivotal within the Office of Investment Security (OIS), which operates under the Office of International Affairs at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. OIS is tasked with overseeing the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), an interagency body responsible for evaluating foreign investment transactions to assess their implications for national security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in advanced policy analysis and legal assessments concerning national security, innovative technologies, and global economic dynamics.
- Facilitate communication with transaction stakeholders to ensure comprehensive information is available for the Committee's evaluations.
- Identify and assess potential national security risks associated with foreign investment activities.
- Negotiate terms and agreements with foreign entities to address and mitigate identified security concerns.
- Prepare detailed reports and briefings for senior officials on matters related to foreign investment transactions.
- Oversee compliance with national security agreements and conduct necessary evaluations and site assessments.
- Investigate potential violations of statutory regulations and enforce compliance measures as needed.
- Collaborate with international stakeholders, government representatives, and interagency partners.
Educational Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a degree from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Essential Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship or National status is mandatory.
- A probationary period may be applicable.
- Successful completion of a background investigation is required.
- Compliance with federal ethics regulations is necessary for all new hires.
- Submission of a Declaration for Federal Employment is required.
- Registration with the Selective Service System is necessary, if applicable.
