The Sales Manager for Mid-Market at Cox Business is responsible for guiding an assigned external sales team to meet and exceed sales objectives.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Foster a professional sales environment, serving as a role model for your team and ensuring alignment with corporate sales strategies.
- Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing sales team capable of achieving retention and sales targets.
- Manage and develop the performance of outside sales representatives, ensuring they effectively utilize the IMPACT Sales methodology to address customer needs.
- Act as a subject matter expert, addressing escalated customer sales issues and providing guidance to team members.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to ensure cohesive planning and execution of sales and marketing initiatives.
- Engage in strategic planning to enhance market share and revenue, optimizing account assignments based on growth potential.
- Establish sales quotas and metrics for the team, aligning them with corporate objectives.
- Develop territory structures tailored to specific markets.
- Forecast account performance and guide the sales team towards maximizing revenue while ensuring profitability.
- Communicate effectively with the sales team and across departments regarding customer feedback, sales opportunities, and implementation of solutions.
- Lead regular sales meetings to align efforts and communicate updates on products, policies, and expectations.
- Coordinate with the Inside Sales Manager to ensure effective lead management.
- Maintain strong interdepartmental relationships to guarantee high-quality customer service.
- Review and approve sales presentations and reports generated by the sales team.
- Prepare expense reports and manage costs while striving to meet revenue goals.
- Ensure timely updates of customer information by direct reports.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current on Cox's product offerings and industry trends.
- Engage in community activities to enhance Cox's presence and reputation.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- 6+ years of relevant experience, including at least 1 year in a management role, or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of experience in business-to-business consultative sales.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with Windows-based PCs.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to coach and develop a sales team.
- BS/BA degree in a related field.
- 2+ years of management experience.
- Experience in telecommunications sales.
- Familiarity with the local market.
- Experience in preparing bid responses for RFQs, RFIs, and RFPs.
Compensation and Benefits
