Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Classroom Teacher and Teacher Assistant in implementing students' Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
  • Attend to the educational, physical, social, and emotional needs of students, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Participate in staff meetings and job skill training to enhance your knowledge and skills.
  • Assist in the organization and arrangement of the classroom to promote a conducive learning environment.
  • Escort and assist students with mobility and orientation needs.
  • Participate in therapy sessions with students to facilitate carryover in the classroom.
  • Perform various tasks to support students' daily living needs, including feeding, toileting, and dressing.
  • Adhere to agency policies and procedures, prioritizing personal safety and the safety of others.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in early childhood and special education is preferred.
  • Ability to push and pull students in wheelchairs, lift, bend, squat, turn in the knees, pivot, and grasp with both hands, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
