Nurse Manager

The Culinary Institute of America is seeking a skilled and experienced Nurse Manager to oversee the smooth and efficient patient flow within our health services clinic. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and positive workplace culture, ensuring quality patient care, and enforcing policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Safety and Quality: Implement state and federal regulatory guidelines for patient safety, educate staff on changes in laws and their impact on care delivery, and enforce infection-control, medication administration, and storage policies.
- Staff Supervision and Development: Direct, mentor, and schedule staff, including communicating job expectations, delegating assignments, and providing supervision for nursing and support staff within their scope of practice.
- Operational Management: Organize training for staff, introduce new procedures and protocols, and maintain documentation of patient care services, ensuring patient confidentiality and protecting operations.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with the Office Manager to identify and align facilities work orders, follow-ups, and completion, and collect data for usage reports, trends, and cost analysis.
- Inventory and Supply Management: Inventory and restock nursing supplies, and monitor and assist with admissions, discharges, and follow-up visits for the Health Services Clinic.
- Performance Evaluation and Improvement: Evaluate staff performance, provide input to the Director - Health Services, and recommend corrective measures, if necessary.
- Education: Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited school.
- Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience, with a minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or management experience.
- Licenses and Certifications: Registered Nurse license, with the ability to practice within New York State, Cardiopulmonary (CPR) and first aid certification, Basic Life Saving (BLS) Certification, and NYS Infection Control Course completion.
- Education: Bachelor's degree.
- Experience: Previous work experience in a school clinic setting.
- Certifications: Wound Care Certification.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Medicat, or other Electronic Health Record (EHR) System, and strong computer experience, including the ability to work effectively with Electronic Medical Records, MS Office Suite products.
- Soft Skills: Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills, ability to use sound judgment and discretion in handling sensitive issues, and demonstrated ability in organizational, time management, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
