Job Title: Nuclear Engineer 4

At HII, we are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Engineer 4 to join our team. As a key member of our Radiological Training for Nuclear Engineers (RTNE) program, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing nuclear equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on new materials of special interest in nuclear reactors.
  • Conduct studies related to the detection and control of radiation and radioactive contaminants.
  • Study nuclear fuel cycle to define most economical uses of material and safest means of waste products disposal.
  • Recommend various technology options or approaches for system, processes, facility or program improvements in terms of safety, performance, efficiency or costs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • 9 years of relevant exempt experience; Master's Degree and 7 years of relevant professional experience; Ph.D. and 4 years of experience.
  • Experience with writing and reviewing Naval Nuclear work instructions that contain radiological controls.
  • Nuclear training, radiological training, or other adult training experience and/or knowledge of adult learning.
