Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of new bakery products and processes, working closely with our research and development team to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of our bakery, ensuring that all products meet our high standards of quality and safety.
  • Collaborate with our business development team to identify new market opportunities and develop strategies to capitalize on them.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Manage and mentor a team of research and development scientists to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
  • Work closely with our quality assurance team to ensure that all products meet our high standards of quality and safety.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and partners to ensure that we have access to the best ingredients and technologies.
  • Travel to customers and industry events to promote our products and build relationships with key stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as food science or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 4-10 years of experience in a research and development or bakery operations role.
  • Strong understanding of the physiochemical and functional properties of various bakery ingredients and baking systems.
  • Experience working in commercial baking facilities and familiarity with grain processing, particularly milling, sifting, and heating grains.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to travel regularly, up to 25% of the time, to customers and industry events.
