We are seeking a prominent figure within the Validation team to explore and innovate methods for assessing testing data. The primary focus will be on spearheading the creation of advanced analytical tools that manage extensive and diverse data sets for performance assessment, alongside conducting validation tests. The chosen candidate will collaborate within a cross-functional and forward-thinking team to ensure the validation of top-tier vehicle functionalities for the North American market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the principal powertrain controls validation test engineer and subject matter expert, overseeing testing, offering insights, developing test plans, and monitoring all facets of assigned evaluations.
  • Lead initiatives to formulate testing strategies, protocols, and methodologies for vehicle assessments.
  • Evaluate project requests, engage with stakeholders to clarify project needs, and devise initial project plans, budgets, and timelines.
  • Engage directly with both internal and external clients regarding test requests, planning, execution, and reporting outcomes.
  • Design, coordinate, manage, and implement necessary program budgets.
  • Develop, monitor, and report on program-related metrics.
  • Establish and nurture cooperative and productive working relationships with truck divisions.
  • Determine specifications for instrumentation equipment, vehicles, loading configurations, software versions, and data collection methodologies for assigned evaluations.
  • Participate in the setup of tests, data gathering, and analysis.
  • Compose reports as necessary, integrating findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Maintain a high level of familiarity with PACCAR products and service tools.
  • Present testing results or investigative project outcomes to divisions or management personnel.
  • Off-site testing may require occasional travel.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in truck or automotive-related fields is preferred.
  • Experience with vehicle software is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with signal processing (video) is a significant advantage.
  • Proven ability to manage personal workload effectively and demonstrate flexibility and initiative in response to changing project demands.
  • Experience in test set and requirements management is preferred.
  • Strong ability to summarize technical issues and communicate effectively.
  • Self-motivated with excellent analytical and technical judgment skills required.
  • Experience in control system hardware and software testing is desirable.
Education
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline is required.
  • A Master's Degree is preferred.
