Your Responsibilities

Under general supervision, the Clinical Research Nurse provides expert nursing care to participants across various age groups, from infants to seniors. The role involves close collaboration with investigators, study teams, and families to ensure participant safety and comfort. Responsibilities include assessing nursing needs, executing physician orders, and performing established nursing interventions such as phlebotomy, IV insertion, infusion management, and other research-related procedures, all while adhering to protocol guidelines and ensuring research objectives are met efficiently and safely.

This position is classified as Per Diem, providing essential support to the research department to enhance clinic coverage.

Qualifications for Success
  • Proficient in basic infection control practices.
  • Bilingual in Spanish to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations.
  • Ability to learn and utilize specialized medical equipment and procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Expertise in pediatric and adult phlebotomy and IV techniques.
  • Possess the essential skills and knowledge for successful job performance.
  • Ability to provide basic patient education based on established teaching principles.
  • Skills to accurately assess patient conditions and recognize urgent needs.
  • Capacity to build effective working relationships within a diverse health system.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Knowledge of nursing, physical, social, and psychological sciences.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills relevant to the role.
  • Ability to maintain an appropriate work pace aligned with workload demands.
  • Self-motivated with minimal supervision, adaptable to changing research priorities.

Essential Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Valid California Registered Nurse license.
