Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our research team at the University of California, Irvine. The successful candidate will have a strong background in biochemistry, molecular biology, and translational medicine, with a focus on metabolic diseases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute experiments to screen soluble proteins in cellular and animal models of metabolic diseases.
  • Employ state-of-the-art biochemical and molecular biology techniques to analyze protein function and regulation.
  • Characterize identified proteins using a variety of assays, including but not limited to, protein-protein interaction studies, enzymatic assays, and functional assays in cellular and animal models.
  • Collaborate with team members to understand computational approaches detailing identification of organ signaling mechanisms and related outcomes.
  • Collaborate with team members to integrate findings into broader research projects and contribute to the development of therapeutic strategies.
  • Maintain detailed records of experimental procedures, results, and analyses.
  • Present research findings at internal meetings, conferences, and scientific seminars.
  • Contribute to the preparation of manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
Requirements
  • A doctoral degree (e.g., Ph.D., M.D.) or the foreign equivalent is required.
  • Applicant can either have their PhD at the time of the application OR they could be working towards the PhD.
