Catholic Religious Educator Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Catholic Religious Educator to join our team at LADGOV CORPORATION. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our Catholic Religious Education Program, providing spiritual guidance and education to children and adults onboard military installations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteer teachers and helpers in the Catholic Religious Education Program.
  • Maintain effective communication and information flow with parents and families of students, including a family handbook and regular updates.
  • Ensure preparation of certificates, awards, and presentations for students and staff.
  • Develop and maintain a professional relationship with Chaplain Corps Staff, other candidates, volunteers, and military and civilian agencies.
  • Attend regularly scheduled chapel council meetings and other meetings as required.
  • Coordinate all programs under the direction of the Catholic DRE, including Vacation Bible School.
  • Provide initial and annual orientation and training for program volunteers.
  • Offer teacher training sessions and other staff meetings as needed.
  • Be present at the Chapel during classes to provide administrative support.
  • Collaborate with the Protestant RE coordinator on ecumenical projects.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of the Roman Catholic community's tenets and understand the requirements for supporting children, youth, and adults onboard military installations.
  • Have knowledge and experience as an Administrative Assistant.
  • Be an active member of a Catholic Community and have working knowledge in the Roman Catholic Faith.
  • Have experience working with the Catholic community.
  • Be a practicing and confirmed Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church.
  • Possess a bachelor's degree in education or experience with Catholic children's religious education programs.
  • Have at least two years of experience as a Catholic Religious Education Coordinator or related field in education within the past 5 years.

Working Hours: At least 10 hours weekly must be performed at the chapel during working hours Monday through Thursday.
