Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Music Director to lead our worship services at Kaneohe Marine Corps Base, Hawaii.

The ideal candidate will have experience leading a worship service and be able to read and play traditional, contemporary, and new age music.

Key Responsibilities
  • Select and prepare music for weekly services in consultation with the Catholic priest.
  • Conduct one-hour rehearsal sessions weekly to prepare the choir and instrumentalists.
  • Direct the choir and manage musical aspects during the service, ensuring a blend of traditional, contemporary, and new age music styles.
  • Coordinate the setup and proper placement of microphones and other audio equipment.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly stored after each service.
Requirements
  • Experience leading a worship service preferred.
  • Ability to read and play traditional, contemporary, and new age music.
  • Familiarity with current liturgical traditions of the Catholic Church.
  • Ability to play piano and/or organ, direct a choir, and sing.
  • Capability to recruit and train vocalists and instrumentalists from the congregation.
  • Competence in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
