POSITION OVERVIEW:

Oversee the ongoing enhancement, organization, and management of the Matheson Tri-Gas corporate sustainability initiative. Emphasize the continuous advancement of industrial conservation principles, including energy and water efficiency, as well as waste management, while integrating innovative concepts, market solutions, and alternative technologies to benefit Matheson Tri-Gas clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead the corporate sustainability Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting.

Facilitate ongoing progress towards sustainability objectives by directing efficiency initiatives through the Matheson Lean Six Sigma framework.

Implement and support directives from the parent company, including new Scope 3 reporting requirements.

Assist in both in-person and remote audits of sustainability data verification.

Collaborate with the Marketing Team to develop materials for corporate websites, newsletters, special promotions, and press announcements.

Engage with internal and external experts to produce training resources.

Establish and maintain a database of key topics frequently addressed in sustainability surveys.

Ensure that customer inquiries regarding sustainability surveys and data are thoroughly vetted.

Maintain a comprehensive list of sustainability commitments made to clients and ensure timely reporting on agreed-upon metrics.

Work alongside the Utility Management group on Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) opportunities or alternative feedstock options.

Coordinate with Contract Management, Sales, and Legal Teams to manage risks in accordance with executive guidelines on customer requests and contracts.

Research, assess, and report on market trends in areas such as renewable energy, carbon capture, and water conservation.

Collect and analyze data to generate regular reports and communications regarding sustainability practices and the status of objectives set by senior management.

Monitor and evaluate changes in industry regulations, government legislation, and corporate policies for their impact on the sustainability program.

Gather industry benchmarks and best practices.

Maintain a data library of agreed factors and conversions utilized for reporting from recognized research sources, industry user groups, and government agencies.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong focus on safety and quality.

Proven ability to effectively coordinate team and task force activities.

Capability to conduct quantitative and qualitative trade-off analyses for management presentations.

Proficient in technical writing and creating presentation materials.

Adept at reading, analyzing, and interpreting business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations related to sustainability.

Working knowledge of data from the EPA, EIA, IEA, WRI, SBTi, and GHG Protocol.

High proficiency in Microsoft Office software is required.

Experience with Microsoft Power BI or similar data analytics tools is preferred.

Advanced skills in managing datasets and interacting with enterprise systems are advantageous.

Lean Six Sigma training or certification is a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This role will primarily be conducted in a corporate office setting, with the possibility of remote work that is conducive to fulfilling job responsibilities, including video conferencing.

Daily tasks will require extensive use of a computer and other office equipment.

Some domestic travel may be required as part of the role.

Compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements is necessary for specific tasks.

Successful candidates must pass a background check and drug screening, and sign a non-disclosure agreement.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, engineering, utility management, compliance, or a related sustainability field is required.

Experience in a corporate-driven sustainability program is essential.
