Overview:

The Credentialing Coordinator is tasked with overseeing, managing, and sustaining the credentialing and re-credentialing processes within the Credentialing Verification Organization (CVO). This role is pivotal in ensuring adherence to the standards set by relevant accrediting and regulatory bodies, while fostering a comprehensive understanding of the laws and regulations governing credentialing practices. Additionally, the coordinator is responsible for the precision and reliability of the credentialing database.

Key Responsibilities:


• Adheres to the designated OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.

• Facilitates and supervises the evaluation and scrutiny of practitioner applications and their associated documentation, confirming applicant qualifications.

• Conducts in-depth investigations, research, and primary source verification of all elements within the application file.

• Identifies matters that necessitate further investigation and assessment, confirms discrepancies, and ensures proper follow-up actions.

• Reviews essential documentation and verifications prior to submission to clients, ensuring compliance with turnaround time and data quality metrics.

• Addresses inquiries from other healthcare entities, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on daily credentialing and privileging matters as they occur.

• Achieves weekly performance benchmarks which encompass: file completion, quality assurance, and turnaround time.

• Utilizes and manages the credentialing database, enhancing operational efficiency, and performs data queries, report generation, and document creation.

• Upholds strict confidentiality of all data and information handled.

• Undertakes additional job-related responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in hospital or managed care credentialing.
  • Certification as a Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) is preferred.
