Avionics and Instrumentation Systems Specialist

As an Avionics and Instrumentation Systems Specialist at Blue Origin, you will play a crucial role in developing reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems. This position requires your expertise in instrumentation and sensors for rocket engine systems, with a focus on providing high-quality solutions that meet system engineering and quality system requirements.
About the Role:
You will be responsible for delivering qualified instrumentation solutions, creating sensor and instrumentation engineering drawings, specifications, and procedures. You will also work closely with sensor vendors to develop sensors that can perform to requirements in challenging environments, perform sensor acceptance testing, and oversee test campaigns at vendors. Additionally, you will troubleshoot and debug sensor/instrumentation anomalies, identify root cause failure modes, and formally document findings.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you should have a BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering or Physics with electrical experience, or an Electrical Engineer with extensive mechanical experience. You must also have 2+ years' experience designing, testing, calibrating, and maintaining sensors & instrumentation. Your knowledge of the theory of operation of sensors for various measurement applications is essential, as well as experience developing acceptance and qualification test plans. Furthermore, you should be able to execute component qualification campaigns, have excellent presentation skills, and be able to earn trust and maintain positive professional relationships.
Salary: $109,980.00-$153,972.00 per year.
